Police, hospitals jointly tighten security in hospitals
Hospitals will actively cooperate with the police to carry out criminal prevention program which requiresd doctors and nurses to take part in reporting violators to help keeping security in medical facilities.
Hospitals do not tolerate physical or verbal aggression or abuse towards staffs and paramedics should inform police officers about security in medical institutions by phoning urgent number 113 or police force’s helpline.
The Department of Administrative Management Police will asked all police forces to work relentlessly to receive information and handle cases informed by hospitals. Moreover, it will send its men to hospitals for ensuring order and security.
Head of the Vietnam Administration of Medical Services Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue said that many big hospitals have recently reported security disorder. More than half of the cases were attacks towards doctors and nurses. Nearly 90 percent of violence erupted when physicians were providing emergency treatment and taking care of patients.
Violences in hospitals were due to lack of understanding the hospital system, poor communication between patients and doctors and expectations gaps.
