In addition to the administrative fine, the station's certificate of business was withdrawn in one month. Moreover, it was forced to destroy the remaining substandard petrol.
Before, inter-inspectors from the provincial Market Management board, the Division of Quality Standard Measurement, the Investigation Police Department on Economic, Corruption-related Crimes and Smuggling (PC03) and local police officers paid unscheduled visit to the station and took samples for testing.
Quick testing results showed that samples of RON 95-III petrol do not meet the quality; therefore, inspectors sent the samples back to the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 3 in Ho Chi Minh City for further test.
The center reported the samples failed to meet the national standard. The station owner was forced to destroy more than 10,000 liter of petrol worth nearly VND200 million.
