Nearly 7 percent of Vietnamese people suffering kidney problem

Annually, around 8,000 fresh cases are reported; of whom, people in the last stage who need blood filtration account for 0.09 percent of the whole population but just 10 percent of them received blood filtration and the remaining succumbed to the disease.

The Hospital yesterday organized a meeting in response to the World Kidney Day 2015 themed “ Kidney Health for All” in order to call for the society’s contribution to share kidney patients’ burden as well as provide information of kidney problem prevention and treatment and complication to increase people’s awareness of the disease.

The world has over 500 million people with chronic kidney problems. The main causes of the disease include high blood pressure and diabetes. Accordingly since 2006 the World Health Organization has decided Thursday of the second week of March will be the World Kidney Day.
