The President asked the rescue team and the military to complete the search for the missing plane as soon as possible and salvage the victims.
The Boeing 737-500 plane, flying from the capital Jakarta to Pontianak city in West Kalimantan province on January 9 afternoon, crashed shortly after takeoff. It was carrying 50 passengers, including seven children and three babies, and 12 crew members.
Also on January 10, Indonesian Navy divers found wreckage from the plane after locating a signal from the aircraft's fuselage.
As well as debris from the plane, Indonesian police said they have received two body bags, one containing personal effects belonging to victims, and another containing human remains, Jakarta Police spokesperson Yusri Yunus said as reported by CNN.
A command post set up at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in Jakarta to identify the crash victims and search for family members was working to identify the remains, he said.
