New regulation concerning to administrative penalties on health insurance was issued by Vietnamese Ministry of Health on August 26.
Under the new law, medical hospitals would face warnings or fines ranging from VND500, 000 to VND40 million if they created phony prescriptions for insurance policyholders.
Hospitals in addition abusing insurance health service would be fined to VND20, 000.
Hospitals also would receive warning or pay up to VND20 million if they increase quantity of drug, medical commodities, technique services or bed cost which insurance card holders didn’t really use to defraud health insurance companies.
Nearly 8,000 medical clinics in the country accept to provide health insurance services.
