The Ha Tay Province People’s Council agreed without dissent to the planned merger of the province with Ha Noi when it met on Monday.
The plan to enlarge the capital through merge with all of Ha Tay Province and part of Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh Provinces has been approved by the Ha Noi People’s Council and will now go to the Government and the National Assembly for approval.
The Ha Tay councilors agreed the merge should be co-operative, promote stability and generate development.
They also wanted the proposed expanded city’s administrators to give more attraction to rural districts, especially those which are remote and where most poor households live.
