According to the latest reports by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, the number of workers in industrial firms increased 6.3 percent on August 1 compared to the same period last year.

Of these, the number increased most in foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises with 10.1 percent, state own enterprises hiked 0.5 percent and private firms 4 percent.
The number of workers in mining industry fell 0.9 percent over the same period last year, processing and manufacturing increased 7.1 percent, electricity distribution reduced 0.1 percent, water supply and waste water treatment went up 5 percent.
