Dengue cases increase in Dak Lak Province

The central highlands province of Dak Lak has reported a rise of dengue fever with 610 infected cases, Pham Van Lao, director of the province’s Center of Preventive Medicine said.

There has been an increase of 50 percent compared to same period last year. Localities having most infections are Buon Ma Thuot Town with 231 cases; Cu M’gar District with 204 cases, Krong Ana District with 37 cases and Buon Ho Town with 32 cases.

According to Mr.Lao, the province has 31 outbreaks mainly in Buon Ma Thuot Town, Cu M’gar District, and Krong Ana District. To prevent and curb the outbreaks, the provincial People’s Committee has set up a steering boards in communes & districts and urged medical facilities to spray chemical to kill mosquitoes in residential blocks and soaping mosquito nets with chemicals.
