The Ministry of Finance on Friday decreased the gas import tariff rate to zero per cent, from the current five per cent and also instructed businesses to immediately slash retail prices on domestic cooking gas cylinders.
Businesses have been asked to order agencies and shops to slash the gas retail price at a level equivalent with the tariff reduction.
Departments of finance in cities and provinces must work with market management departments to monitor businesses to comply with the ministry’s directions.
After the ministry’s announcement, businesses have begun to reduce gas retail prices by VND16, 000 on a 12 kg cylinder, which will now cost VND461,000-465,000 from today, March 3.
