Saigon Agriculture Inc. (SAGRI) on March 9 put into operation a biogas-fueled power plant with the world’s most modern technology at the Phuoc Long Pig Breeding Farm (PLPBF) in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cu Chi district.
As part of the East Asia Climate Partnership Program funded by the Korea Energy Management Corporation (KEMCO), the plant was built at a cost of nearly VND21.5 billion (USD1.1 million), including VND16 billion provided by RoK businesses.
The plant, constructed by the RoK-based HANATECH Company, includes four generators with a combined capacity of 80 kWh, generating about 640,000 kW of electricity per year, meeting 70 percent of the farm’s power demand.
The PLPBF is a large pig breeding farm in Ho Chi Minh City with more than 15,000 heads.
