Of these, RON 95 gasoline reaches 100,078 cubic meters a month, accounting for 76.92 percent of total supply in the market. Ethanol gasoline hits 30,022 cubic meters, making up 23.08 percent.
Data previously provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade show that gasoline consumption in the domestic market was 4.43 cubic meters in the first half of 2018. Of these, E5 RON 92 gasoline approximated 1.78 cubic meters accounting for 40.18 percent. The remaining amount is RON 95 gasoline.
After many retail price increases, a liter of E5 RON 92 gasoline now fetches VND20,906 while RON 95 is priced VND22,347.
Currently, Tung Lam Company is the only supplier of ethanol E100 for petrol wholesale companies to mix the material with RON92 gasoline to produce E5 RON92 blend.
In addition, some wholeale firms have imported ethanol E100 to meet their material demand.
Dung Quat Bio Ethanol Plant is expected to resume operation in mid October to produce 2,000 cubic meters of alcohol with 4,600 tons of cassava. The plant’s capacity will gradually increase in the future to provide the material for E5 RON 92 gasoline.
