The charity program “Bring music to hospital” has collected nearly VND3 billion (US$134,580) from charity boxes in 143 programs after it was set up five years ago.
The news was announced in a meeting in Hanoi on March 29. The proceeds will be given to poor patients, said the organizer. The program has brought smile to patients and medical workers in 100 hospitals in 12 cities and provinces, helping release their pain and tiredness.
The program received great contribution of actors and actress, singers. The first musical performance of the program was organized in November, 2011 with the aim to perform music freely in hospitals in serving patients and medical workers.
All proceeds from the program were given directly to poor patients in the hospitals where the program was performed.
The organizer said that there will be 40 performances this year in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the central provinces, the highlands provinces and the Mekong delta.
