The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a meeting yesterday on preparation for APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2006 in the city.
Chairman of the city’s People's Committee Le Hoang Quan instructed relevant units to have a warm welcome and ensure security to the delegates.
Today, the city leaders will inspect the preparation at relevant districts.
To ensure security during the APEC meeting, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced the blockage of traffic on the following streets in Districts 1 and 3:
From 5h pm tomorrow to 10h30 am Monday, vehicles will not be allowed to travel on Pham Hong Thai Street (the section from Le Lai – Pham Hong Thai three-way crossroad to Phu Dong roundabout), Le Lai Street (the section from Le Lai – Pham Hong Thai three-way crossroad to Nguyen Thi Nghia Street), Le Thanh Ton Street (the section from Le Anh Xuan Street to Pham Hong Thai Street) and Le Anh Xuan Street (the section from Le Thanh Ton Street to Pham Hong Thai Street).
From 5h pm to 6h pm tomorrow, traffic will be stopped at Le Thanh Ton Street (the section from Truong Dinh Street to Le Anh Xuan Street) and Le Anh Xuan Street (the section from Ly Tu Trong Street to Le Thanh Ton Street).
From 8h am to 10h30 am on Monday, vehicles will be blocked on Pho Duc Chinh Street (the section from Nguyen Cong Tru Street to Ben Chuong Duong Street) and Ben Chuong Duong Street (the section from Calmette Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street).
From 10 am to 11h30 am on Monday, traffic will be blocked at Le Duan Street (the section from Ton Duc Thang Street to Nguyen Binh Khiem Street) and Nguyen Binh Khiem Street (the section from Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street to Nguyen Huu Canh Street).
From 11h am to 12h30 pm on Monday, vehicles will not allowed to move on Le Duan Street (the section from Vo Thi Sau Street to Tran Quoc Toan Street) and Tran Quoc Toan Street (the section from Huynh Tinh Cua Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street).
From 5h30 pm tomorrow to 9h am on Tuesday, traffic will be blocked at Cong Truong Lam Son Street (the section from Hai Ba Trung Street to Dong Khoi Street).
