For fearing that the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome caused by the Corona virus, or MERS-CoV, will spread into the country via entry points, the Ministry of Health yesterday asked people from nine countries in the Middle East to fill out health declaration forms at three international airports since July.
Because the number of infection cases and MERS-CoV-related deaths is continuing to increase, Vietnamese Ministry of Health regulates that as of July 1, 2014, all passengers coming to Vietnam from nine countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Emirates of Arab, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan and Iran are required to fill out health declaration forms before entering Vietnam via three international airports Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai and Da Nang.
Passport holders from the nine countries are asked to inform personal data such as name, age, residence address and mobile phone number.
They have to declare what countries they had visited within 14 past days, their health condition, whether they are suffering fever, diarrhea.
Those who have temperature over 38 Celsius degree or infected with MERS-CoV would be quarantined for further tests.
