Dr. Le Quoc Hung, deputy head of Treatment Ward of Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City gave warning and prevention, first-aid for snake bite cases saying that several people are being treated in the ward due to being bitten by dendrophis.
Dr. Hung added that the venomous snakes usually appear in rainy season and most of snake bite cases are from suburban districts including district 9, 12, Cu Chi, and Hoc Mon. Last month, the hospital admitted 111 snake bite cases and 80 of them were bitten by dendrophis.
Dr. Hung advised snake-bitten victims to clean the wound and rush to nearby hospital within 6 first hours. In addition, their wound should be bound with cloth.
