The Prime Minister issued a guideline on increasing number of health insurance buyers, using software to manage medical fee for patients.
The PM urged the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to submit a list of disadvantaged coastal and islet districts no later than June 30. While waiting for the PM’s approval of disadvantaged districts, chairpersons of people’s committees relied on the old decision approved by the PM of disadvantaged coastal and island districts to buy medical insurance cards for residents in these districts from its state budget.
The PM also asked the Vietnam Social Insurance company to issue policies, mechanism and adopt measures to promote health insurance expansion. Responsible agencies should encourage more people to buy health insurance in family groups, ensuring most of family members buy insurance during this fiscal year to enjoy exemption as per the law.
Municipal and provincial people’s committees were asked to allocate its state budget to aid people in buying insurance, especially families being close to poverty line, families working in agriculture, fishery, fishermen and salt farmers as well as students and families with many children. For these cities and provinces which have redundant sum from medical insurance fund must use it to support people in buying insurance.
The Ministry of Health must carry out road map for medical fee adjustment, ensuring fairness between patients with and without health insurance in order to encourage people to buy insurance.
