The movement is part of the "Action Month on Gender Equality and Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls", launched by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in 2017.
The event is co-organized by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, also known as UN Women, and Sunrise Vietnam.
Attending in the movement were the 3rd runner-up of Miss International 2015, Thuy Van; actresses An Nguy, Alex Nguyen, Lan Huong Glee; singers Ricker Nguyen, Hoang Ton, Doan Tuan Anh; VJ Dustin Nguyen; models Thanh Truc Truong, Duong Mac Anh Quan; designer Lam Gia Khang; scriptwriter Tran Khanh Hoang and journalists.
HeForShe is a solidarity movement developed by UN Women Women to engage men and boys as advocates and agents of change for the achievement of gender equality. Launched in September 2014, the campaign has been held in many countries with the participation of UN women's goodwill ambassadors, world renowned actresses Nicole Kidman, Emma Watson và Anne Hathaway.
