Food safety inspection teams set up

Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Management Board has set up 12 teams to inspect food safety as Tet holiday ( the Lunar New year ) is approaching.

Head of the board Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan yesterday said the implementation of food safety regulation has been issued for the festive season.
According to the regulation, the board set up 12 teams to supervise food safety in the holidays in the city in a bid to detect and handle violations as per the law.
Inspectors will pay visits to food processing businesses of confectioneries and beverage with more concentration on large business and exporters, wholesale markets and commercial centers and eateries.
Relevant agencies will pay unscheduled visits to producers and exporters of food additives and packages as per the direction of local administrations and complaints of residents and the media.
Along with this, the inspection teams in districts and wards also issued plan on food safety task in the festive season to ensure the food safety as well as enhance control over manufacturing of substandard food and preventing poisoning.
The media will take part in spreading information of food safety and knowledge of food preservation and making in order to curb poisoning in the festive season.
The supervision will be carried out in three stages starting on January 1, 2019 to March 25, 2019 citywide.
