In the first four months of this year, the total retail sales of goods and services reached VND1,777.4 trillion  (US$76.76 billion), up 6.5 percent over the same period last year.

Today evening, many dwellers in Ho Chi Minh City flocked to entertainment parks and commercial centers to experience the last day of the holiday on the occasion of April 30 and May 1, despite the heavy rain. Additionally, eateries were packed with diners.

Purchase power in supermarkets and commercial centers in Ho Chi Minh City was reportedly double in the three -day new year holiday.

Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Management Board has set up 12 teams to inspect food safety as Tet holiday ( the Lunar New year ) is approaching.
