On the morning of April 2, at Bau Ham Commune, the Dong Nai People’s Committee held a ceremony to launch banana exports and promote agricultural exports in 2026.
A total of seven enterprises participated in the event, exporting around 220 tons of Cavendish bananas packed in 11 containers to markets including Japan, the Republic of Korea and China. The activity aims to promote fresh bananas and other key agricultural products of Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, to international markets.
According to statistics, Dong Nai Province currently has nearly 21,000 hectares of banana cultivation, with an annual output exceeding 900,000 tons, of which about 80 percent is for export. Banana plantations are concentrated in areas such as Bau Ham, Gia Kiem, Thanh Son and Phu Vinh, with exports mainly targeting Asian markets, particularly China.
The province has granted 54 growing area codes covering 7,250 hectares, providing a solid foundation for expanding banana exports to global markets.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Province People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said that Dong Nai possesses strong agricultural potential, with over one million hectares of agricultural land. Favorable natural conditions and climate have enabled the province to develop large-scale key crops among the country’s top producers, including nearly 288,000 hectares of rubber, over 175,000 hectares of cashew, nearly 21,000 hectares of bananas and about 25,000 hectares of durian.
Many agricultural products have established brands associated with geographical indications, such as Tan Trieu pomelo, Binh Phuoc cashew and Long Khanh rambutan.
