Company will pay medical fee for burnt workers: Chairman

Do Xuan Chieu, Chairman of Pomina Steel Corporation No.3 said that the company will cover all medical fee of workers who suffered labor accident on April 11 when he visited workers in Cho Ray Hospital.

Cho Ray Hospital April 12 said that 10 workers who are being treated in the hospital suffer 10 – 85 percent of the total body surface area.

Worker Nguyen Van Doan recalled a group of workers heard a loud explosion while they were working in the Pomina  steel plant No.3 in Phu My Industrial Park in southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Then water from steel oven overflowed from the height of 5 meter leaving 12 workers injured with burns.

All were transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.

Three of them receive intensive care as they suffer severe burn. They are Hoang Thanh Thinh, 49 in the central province of Ha Tinh with 85 percent of the total body surface area, Doan Le Phuong, 23, local worker with 61 percent of the total body surface area and Nguyen Van Thai, 23, local worker with 76 percent of the total body surface area.
