50 Vietnamese die of dengue fever by October

The Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health announced that the country reportedly has over 200,000 dengue cases including 50 deaths as of October.

This is about three times more than the total number of dengue cases reported in the same period last year. All cities and provinces nationwide reported cases of dengue fever.
However, people’s awareness of the disease is still low. Worse, some people prevented medical workers from spraying chemicals to kill mosquitoes.
The Ministry of Health once again denied the rumor about a strange virus causing myocarditis going viral on social networks.
Regarding two deaths because of myocarditis in Hanoi, the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology partnered with the Center for Disease Control said that they died of acute myocarditis not relating to epidemic.
