The Vietnam Administration of Drug under the Ministry of Health has sent a document asking to recall Aciloc 150 and 300 manufactured by Indian Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Canadian –made Apo-Ranitidine 150mg, Spanish-made Zantac Tablets - Glaxo Wellcome S.A, Italian-made Zantac Injection - GlaxoSmithKline Manufacturing S.p.A, Indian-made Ratylno-150, Malaysian-made Hyzan Tablet 150mg , Neoceptin R-150 Tablet 150mg of Beximco Pharmaceuticals, Vesyca film coated tablet 150mg, Xanidine Tablet 150mg made by Thai Berlin Pharmaceutical Industry Company, Zantac Syrup 150mg/10ml of German Aspen Bad Oldesloe GmbH and the US-made Glaxo Wellcome Operations.
These pills were asked to recall because they contained excessive N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) – a cancer-causing agent. The recall was made by the Singaporean Health Science Department and Swiss Pharmaceutical Authority.
The drug watchdog in Vietnam ordered importers and distributors of these pills to recall all of them nationwide.
Departments of Health must post announcement of the recall on their portal as well as supervise the recall task.
