“Stop wrongdoings and the bad habit of earning educational reputations at all costs in exams,” Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, chairman of the National Education Council, said at the council’s session.

The PM directed the Education and Training Ministry to work with with localities and educational agencies in the implementation of measures against wrongdoings in education and training, especially in exams; the regulation of tutoring at school; the preventation of the bad habit of earning educational reputations at all costs as well as the adoption of effective action plans to raise education quality.

The PM also emphasized the value of pre-school education, which lays a foundation for education on personality and intelligence.

Regarding university education renovation projects, the PM stressed that the ministry needs to pay attention to resources including teaching staff, administrative officials; facilities and budget; the re-organization of the system; the improvement of curriculum and methodology in close connection with research and career; innovations in government management towards the university autonomy.

The PM urged the project team to quickly do the feasibility study of the internationally-standadized university to submit fore the government approval.
