After five years of implementing the medicine subsidization program, around 551 drug times have been subsidized.
In 2011 just 45 medicine items were subsidized and the number of pharmacies across the city selling subsidized drugs is just 360. Currently, 3,852 drug stores have sold subsidized drugs and the program has encouraged the participation of 14 pharmaceutical enterprises.
The proportion of subsidized locally-made drugs in prescribed in hospitals increased from 20 percent to 30 percent.
Drugs in the subsidization program is domestically-made times which meet GMP-WHO standards to treat normal and chronic diseases. The number of medicine in the program can meet the demand in case that there is a fluctuation of price.
