The person to initiated this scientific conference on soft matter is Prof. Tran Anh Tuan from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
In nature, soft matter exists in various physical forms of liquid, colloids, polymers, foams, gels, or liquid crystals. It has a high ability of distortion, and thus is implemented in a wide range of fields. Some of the most prominent applications of soft matter nowadays are to invent new material, to use for tissue and organ culture techniques in the medical field.
In the conference Prof. Jean-Francois Joanny, student of the Nobel winner on soft matter Prof. Pierre-Gilles Gennes (from France), shared interesting international researches on the strange medical relationship between earthworm and human cells, which is still a mystery until now.
The conference attracted the participation of nearly 100 professors and young scientists from 19 nations in the world. It will take place until July 20.
