Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai asked departments and agencies to solve problems that businesses have mentioned at recent meetings to help businesses trust city’s determination for economy growth.
According to statistics of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in October was estimated to increase by three percent over the last month and by 6.3 percent over the same period last year. In the first ten months of 2022, the IIP is estimated to surge by nine percent over the same period last year, up 3.8 percent over the same period in 2021.
On May 29, the General Statistics Office said that the consumer price index (CPI) in May 2022 increased by 0.38 percent compared to the previous month. With this increase, the average CPI in the first 5 months of the year increased by 2.25 percent compared to the same period last year, higher than the increase of 1.29 percent in the first five months of 2021, although it is still lower than the increase of the first five months of the period 2017-2020.
Ho Chi Minh City’s economy saw a deep decline of -24.97 percent and -11.64 percent in the third quarter and the fourth quarter of 2021 respectively; however, up to now, the city’s economy gradually has stabilized and recovered with positive growth at 1.88 percent. After an unprecedented economic disruption, Ho Chi Minh City has rebounded back.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said it is continuing the implementation of the program to connect banks and businesses with a credit support package of about VND 70,000 billion (US$3 billion ) in the fourth quarter of 2021 to support businesses to access to preferential loans.
The General Statistics Office of Vietnam, this morning, announced that the index of industrial production (IIP) in July merely rose by 1.8 percent over the previous month and 2.2 percent year-on-year, the lowest increase in the past seven months, except February with the fewest number of working days.
The General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) has just said that thanks to a fairly high increase in industrial production in January this year compared to January last year, the index of industrial production (IIP) in the first two months of this year still rallied 7.4 percent year-on-year.
The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Binh Duong Province recently held a meeting with associations and enterprises located in the province.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, since the beginning of this year, industrial production of the whole country posted fairly good growth with the index of industrial production increasing by 9.4 percent in comparison with the same period last year.
Ho Chi Minh City’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) enjoyed a year-on-year rise of 7.89 percent in the first nine months of 2018, according to the municipal Statistics Office.
