HCMC Union of Business Association (HUBA) and SGGP Newspaper yesterday held a ceremony to award the title ‘HCMC Green Business 2023’ to 90 enterprises.

By the end of the first quarter of 2022, industrial production in Ho Chi Minh City has prospered, with the added value of the whole industry increasing by 5.5 percent. Along with that, export turnover of goods is estimated at nearly US$11.9 billion, up 3.5 percent; foreign direct investment capital reaches nearly VND10 trillion. This shows that HCMC's economic growth is recovering strongly.
After more than half a month of loosening social distancing, Ho Chi Minh City records that 60 percent of enterprises have restored production with a scale of up to 83 percent. The relaxation of social distancing, along with the resumption of the transportation system from the city to other provinces, has created favorable conditions for enterprises to speed up production.
According to Mr. Chu Tien Dung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Business Associations (HUBA), the resources of enterprises have been exhausted, and they no longer have enough capital to restore production quickly. Therefore, businesses need mechanisms and support policies to remove difficulties for economic recovery and development in the coming time.
Ho Chi Minh City recorded nearly 12,230 laborers infected with Covid-19 by August 30. The difficulties that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused for laborers are not only job loss, loss of income, but also a threat to the lives of themselves and their families. The timely sharing of trade unions and businesses has warmed the hearts and empowered laborers to overcome difficulties.
