The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday announced that they had appointed Mr. Vo Minh Tuan, deputy head of SBV’s credit department to chairman of Dong A Bank board of directors after Mr. Cao Sy Kiem resigned from the post.
The nomination aimed to fortify the bank’s management and ensure its safety, stability and sustainable development.
Mr. Tuan got master degree in development economics under a cooperation program between the HCMC University of Economics and the Dutch Research Institute and used to be vice director general of Ocean Bank.
After SBV put Dong A Bank under special surveillance and suspended director general Tran Phuong Binh in mid August, deputy director general Nguyen An has been appointed to temporarily manage the bank.
