In the framework of the event which wrapped up on Sunday, the Department of Tourism of HCMC in coordination with the municipal Association of Journalists presented the 10th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Press Award.
The first prize went to journalist Hoang Tuyet of the Vietnam News Agency. The second and third prizes belonged to Nguyen Nam of Viet Nam Tourism Newspaper and Thai Phuong of Nguoi Lao Dong (Laborer) newspaper.
The award aims to honor the contribution of tourism reporters to the tourism development of Ho Chi Minh City and Viet Nam as a whole.
This year’s ITE themed "A tourist gateway to Asia” lured around 315 display booths of hundreds of local firms in 45 cities and provinces nationwide and foreign enterprises from 42 countries and territories worldwide; as well as created over 8,000 business exchanges.

Highlights of the festival were more than 15 seminars on development of inbound travel market, MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Event) sector, health and green tourism; and a series of activities, including Night of Vietnam, Nigh of Cambodia, Night Khanh Hoa, National Bartender Competition, ITE HCMC Award, a business matching for around 1,000 CEOs of travel enterprises nationwide.
Started in 2005, the ITE has become one of the leading travel events in Vietnam and the region with expanded scale and diversified activities, such as exhibition, meeting between Buyer and Seller and others, promotional programs.
The event is an opportunity for travel agents, hotels and representatives from tourism promotion agencies to publicize their brands and offer tourist products to local and international travelers.
