20 killed in Turkey quake: report

Twenty people were killed in a strong earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale that struck the eastern Turkish province of Elazig early Monday, the Anatolia news agency reported, citing the crisis management centre in Ankara.

Several were also injured, it said in a brief statement carried by the agency.

Earlier, the centre had announced that 17 people were killed in three villages in Elazig.
