The Ministry of Defence has agreed to hand over land to HCM City authorities for construction of a flyover near Tan Son Nhat International Airport to prevent the constant traffic jams that occur there.
Some flyovers have been opened to traffic recently to reduce traffic jam in streets leading to Tan Son Nhat International Aiport area but they have fallen short of expectations in HCMC.
After Ho Chi Minh City proposed the Ministry of Transport to open more entrances to Tan Son Son Nhat International Airport to ease traffic jam in Truong Son street, the airport’s sole entrance route now, land and house prices in proposed areas have rocketed up.
Streets leading to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City were badly congested this morning with thousands of vehicles moving inch by inch for several hours.

A Y shaped flyover in Truong Son street approaching Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be opened to traffic on July 3, two months before schedule, said director of Urban Traffic Management Zone No.1 Nguyen Vinh Ninh.
