Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on January 2 signed off the Politburo’s Resolution No 31-NQ/TW on orientations and tasks for the development of HCMC by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The 15th National Assembly (NA) adopted resolutions on some major road projects, including the construction project of Ring Belt No.3 of HCMC. In an interview with the Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Phan Van Mai shared information about the project's to-do list.
As planned, the construction project of Ring Belt No.3., which connects HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An, will be submitted to the National Assembly (NA) for ratification by the Government on June 6. If the project is approved, it will be an important driving force in the development of the southern key economic region.
The first phase of the Ring Road No.4 project connecting HCMC with neighboring provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, and Vung Tau is expected to be completed by 2028.
Ho Chi Minh City and its neighbouring Long An Province plan to widen seven roads that connect each other by 2025 at a cost of VND24.4 trillion (US$1.05 billion).
