For die-hard fans of the Japanese manga and anime art forms, the most-anticipated event – Active Expo Ho Chi Minh 2008 – is scheduled for Sept. 14.
A Japanese popular art festival next week is set to offer both die-hard fans and newcomers plenty to engage their curiosity and gaming skills.
The festival will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 pm next Sunday at field 4A of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Culture House in District 1.
Besides the usual shopping booths, this year, guests will have the chance to play on their own various Japanese mini games, just like a manga festival in Japan. Twist, Japanese human chess, Kingyo-sukui, goldfish scooping; and a karaoke contest are other attactions.
Mini-galleries will offer visitors the opportunity to have their own portraits drawn in manga style.
A bookstore sponsored by the Tri Viet Media will offer a discount of up to 50 percent off on all purchases.
It’s also a good time for guests to donate books to the ShareGroup who will distribute among them to disadvantaged children on the night of the Mid-Autmn Festival.
The top five Cos Clip voted by the anime and mange fans via the website http://clip.vn/mytv/cosclip will be honored at the end of the show.
