The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has recently asked the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to accelerate the progress of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway construction project.
The Transport Ministry yesterday informed that it has just proposed to the Prime Minister to adjust the implementation time, capital structure, and financial mechanism of Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway construction project.
Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is a national key project with a length of 57.8 km, passing through Long An - Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai. Construction of the project started in 2014, completed in 2019, but due to financial difficulties, many categories are still unconstructed.
Many vehicle drivers reported that they still cannot pass the ETC booth even though their vehicle has attached a valid ETC card and their ETC account still has sufficient money. They have to wait longer as booth staff scan the card and finish the toll collection procedure manually.
The Ministry of Transport has recently announced the restart of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway construction project. Accordingly, the project will soon resume construction after three years of being delayed due to a shortage of capital.
