Ho Chi Minh City has completed various important traffic construction projects on time to celebrate the historic day of April 30. These works are expected to create smoother traffic flow inside HCMC as well as between the city and neighboring provinces, contributing to the sustainable development.
It is planned that VND420,000 billion (US$18.4 billion) will be allocated to traffic projects from 2021-2025. Except for the regular maintenance expenses, there will be over VND80,000 ($3.5 billion) per year for traffic facilities construction. Such a large sum has raised concern in the community as to the implementation capacity, progress administration and quality control of those projects. SGGP News has conducted an interview with Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The regarding these matters.
