Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed a decision to set up a front steering committee to respond to Storm Molave, which is forecast to make landfall in the central and south-central regions, from Thua Thien-Hue south to Khanh Hoa province, later on October 27.
The national flag carrier Vietnamese airlines adjusted and canceled its flights from and to airports in the Central region due to an impact of supper storm Molave.
Amid havoc forecasts from supper storm Molave, Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces allowed all pupils and students to be absented from their schools and banned all vessels going out to sea from yesterday afternoon.
According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, tropical storm Molave is forecast to trigger extreme rainfalls of 200-400 mm and gale-force winds in the Central mainland provinces from Thua Thien- Hue to Phu Yen from tonight to October 31.
The National Hydrology Metrology Forecast Center said that storm Saudel weakened gradually into a tropical low- pressure system as it travelled the territorial waters from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri last night.
