State President Vo Van Thuong has congratulated educators and students nationwide on the new academic year 2023 – 2024, reminding students of all grades across the country to consider learning an important lifelong mission.
The Vo Hong Son care center for disabled children in the central province of Quang Ngai received a donation of more than VND3 billion at its new school year opening ceremony that was held on August 20.
Regarding parents having bumped into difficulties finding textbooks for their children for the new school year, Mr. Le Duy Tan, Head of the Secondary Education Department under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training today asked schools to work with publishers to provide enough textbooks for students for preparation of the new academic year.
The new academic year of 2022-2023 has yet begun, but many parents in Ho Chi Minh City have been asked to register for textbook purchase by their children’s school. Noticeably, on the registration form are not only official textbooks but also workbooks and other reference materials, learning tools.
On the morning of September 5, the first day of the new school year, Phu Nhuan District Youth Union visited and gave gifts to underprivileged students in the district.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training’s statistics on September 3, tens of thousands of students don’t have laptops or smartphones for online learning as the new school year is going to begin in the next few days.
Presently, many parents are worrying because they have not been able to buy textbooks for their children dung strict social distancing. Publishers such as Fahasa, Phuong Nam Book are speeding up the delivery of textbooks to schools or home delivery according to the online registration of parents.
Kindergartens in HCMC will start the new school year on September 5 while day care service will begin on September 7, said the municipal Department of Education and Training.
Because the country has nearly 11,000 cases of hand-foot-mouth, the Ministry of Health has required health agencies in provinces and cities nationwide to minimize the number of infections and deaths.
In his letter, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam cum State President Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday praised education sector, parents, and schoolers on the occasion of the new school year.
The Ministry of Health yesterday sent a document to its departments countrywide asking to increase prevention of hand, foot and mouth disease for fear that with a new school year, kids are once again at risk for being exposed to hand, foot and mouth disease.
