Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong had a meeting with relevant agencies on August 23 to discuss the organisation of the events.
The organising board said the events will include 17 main activities, including a Japanese job fair, a conference to promote Vietnam-Japan tourism and trade cooperation, a photo exhibition on Japan’s peace movement supporting Vietnam, and groundbreaking ceremonies of projects in the Vietnam-Japan Industry Park, among others.
The programme is expected to welcome 300-500 delegates, including 200 from Japanese enterprises which will come to seek investment opportunities in Can Tho.
Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Truong Quang Hoai Nam said he hopes these events will help further promote trade cooperation and tourism development, as well as enhance cultural exchange, contributing to tightening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Municipal authorities will take the occasion to update Japanese businesses on investment opportunities in Can Tho, and incentives for foreign investors in general and Japanese firms in particular, he noted.
