Veterans’ associations of HCMC, Champasak strengthen solidarity

On April 1, a delegation led by Colonel Bunmac Vilavong, President of the Veterans Association of Champasak Province of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, paid a visit and held a working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association.

Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, received the delegation and provided an overview of the city’s achievements in socio-economic development, as well as the assurance of national defense and security, along with several notable results attained by the municipal Veterans Association in recent years.

During the talks, the two sides exchanged views and reviewed the outcomes of their cooperation over the past period, while outlining a number of orientations for collaboration in the time ahead. Key priorities include sharing experience in political and ideological education, enhancing the effectiveness of grassroots-level association activities, and promoting mutual support initiatives in poverty reduction, household economic development, and comradeship-based welfare programs.

In addition, both sides agreed to step up cultural exchange activities and historical seminars aimed at fostering revolutionary traditions among the younger generations of the two countries.

The delegation of the Champasak Veterans Association expressed its appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, while voicing confidence that the cooperative relationship between the two sides will continue to deepen and deliver more substantive outcomes.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association and the Champasak Veterans Association signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
