Three container truck drivers test positive for drugs in District 9, HCMC
Through examination of 47 truck drivers at Phu Huu port yesterday following deadly truck accidents in the nation, the competent agencies and police officers in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 9 found three of them tested positive for drugs, Deputy Head of police station in district 9 Lieutenant colonel Phan Thanh Viet said.
Moreover, two of them couldn’t show driving licenses.
Police officers stopped many drivers traveling in streets Nguyen Duy Trinh and 900 for examination of urine samples. Driver Nguyen Tan Hoang, 1990, from the central province of Quang Nam was positive for methamphetamine and heroin.
Driver Dinh Van Tieu, 1981, was positive for Morphine. Initially, driver Tieu said that he had back pain the day before yesterday, so he took drug.
Nguyen Phan Ngoc Quyen, 1993, from the central province of Binh Dinh who tested positive for methamphetamine said he took methamphetamine in hometown while went out with his friends in Tet holiday ( the lunar New Year).
Deputy Head of police station in district 9 Lieutenant colonel Phan Thanh Viet said regarding to the driver who tested positive for Morphine because of ailment, local police officer will checked the information and then police will handle the case based on evidence.
Thousands of container trucks reportedly travel in and out Phu Huu Port for transportation of commodity. Due to high traffic flow lead to more traffic conflicts in Nguyen Duy Trinh Street into the port .
