While transport infrastructure in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Southern Key Economic Zone has improved over the years, connectivity remains modest, hampering development, experts say.
During the 2nd week of the 3rd session, the National Assembly is going to discuss investments into Ring Road No.3 in Ho Chi Minh City, a major construction project not only to the city but also to the Southern key economic zone. SGGP News has conducted an interview with Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le about this matter.
HCMC People’s Committee on June 17 suggested that the city People’s Council should propose the National Assembly to have a specific mechanism for the southern key economic zone to gather resources for road infrastructure development.
In the project to develop the logistics industry until 2025 with visions until 2030, HCMC should head toward a logistics human resource training center to supply manpower for not only the city but also the Southern Key Economic Zone instead of developing into a logistics center amid ongoing traffic, technical and social infrastructure overloading.
