Vietnam hopes to step up cooperation with the United Nations (UN) and the UN Resident Coordinators’ Office in Vietnam, said Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh on Jan 16.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh and his Lao counterpart Lieut. Gen. Onsi Sensuk co-chaired the first Vietnam – Laos defence policy exchange in Vientiane, Laos, on July 25. 

 The ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting, under the theme “Sustainable security”, officially opened in Phetchaburi province, Thailand, on April 3.

 Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh hosted a reception for Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam Michael Greene on March 7 in Hanoi. 

Deputy Minister of National Defence, Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh made a courtesy call to Chinese Minister of National Defence, Sen. Lt. Gen. Wei Fenghe during his working trip to China from February 19-22.
