On July 2, the HCMC Customs Department during Drug Preventions Month in conjunction with the HCMC Police, the Department of Trafficking Prevention, and General Department of Customs, reported 11 instances of illegal narcotics being shipped through air, express delivery, and foreign exchange post offices.

HCMC Police on September 8 announced the busting of a smuggling ring worth 100kg in narcotics in coordination with the Drug-related Crime Investigation PD.
