As of April 23 afternoon, 374,255 doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been administered to children from 5 to under 12 years old in 41 out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long informed in the briefing to evaluate the progress of the National Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign yesterday that after one month, the campaign has seen impressive success. Particularly, Ho Chi Minh City in the last two weeks has been able to fight against the outbreak and safely vaccinate a large number of dwellers at the same time.
Currently, most leading medical forces and doctors in Ho Chi Minh City have been mobilized to be on duty for field hospitals and hospitals for the treatment of severe Covid-19 patients. A large vaccination campaign is underway and the fifth drive will begin soon.
At the meeting of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Hanoi on March 12, the Ministry of Health said Vietnam was negotiating with Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers like Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Gamaleya, looking to gain access to all supplies available to deploy vaccines on a wider scale.
