The statue "Uncle Ho and the border guards" is cast in pure red copper at a cost of nearly VND1 billion (US$39,218), stands at 1.89 meters high, 0.8 meters wide, and 1.2 meters long with a pedestal measuring 1.5 meters wide, 1.5 meters long, and 2.09 meters high.
On this occasion, the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with the local party committees and authorities to organize a tree planting movement in gratitude to Uncle Ho. The tree-planting campaign is expected to be completed before May 19.
It aims to celebrate the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-2025), the 135th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day of Kien Giang Province, and Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
