In the new development period, continuing to develop and promote the values of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces requires renewed thinking and implementation approaches, ensuring substantive and in-depth development, broad outreach, and sustainable growth.
To ensure that Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces continue to effectively fulfill their role and truly become a spiritual foundation, a driving force for development and a distinctive feature of Ho Chi Minh City in the new era, the Standing Committee of the municipal Party Committee has called on Party committees and authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and agencies, localities and units to renew their awareness, thinking and approaches to building Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces.
Accordingly, the development of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces must be placed within the broader effort to build a disciplined, safe, civilized, and harmonious society, with people at the center, as the subjects, goals, resources, and driving force for Ho Chi Minh City’s comprehensive development. This is a regular, long-term political task for the entire political system, as well as a spiritual foundation, an endogenous resource, and a distinctive feature of the city’s development.
A shift must be made from the mindset of “building models” to promoting the values embodied in Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces, with a view to fostering a cultural environment, a system of values, standards of conduct, and a way of life that bear the distinctive imprint of Ho Chi Minh City.
Strengthen the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, methodology, and style across all areas of leadership, management, production, business, education, work, and people’s daily lives.
In addition, fundamentally renew the content and methods of communication and education on Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, methodology, and style in conjunction with the requirements for developing the city’s culture and people in the new development period, ensuring that such efforts are dynamic, practical, and tailored to different target groups, sectors, and localities.
The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has called for stepped-up efforts to develop Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces in the digital environment, considering this an important means of broadening access.
It also called for greater attention to developing a digital culture grounded in ethical standards and civilized conduct in the digital environment; enhancing people’s ability to protect themselves against harmful and toxic information and negative impacts of the digital environment; and contributing to the development of a safe and healthy digital cultural and information environment.
The development of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces should be linked with the growth of the cultural and creative industries. Creativity in producing cultural, artistic, media, and educational products with high ideological and artistic value and broad potential for social outreach should be encouraged.
The directive calls for continued review and refinement of mechanisms, policies, programs, schemes, and projects on cultural development, developing Ho Chi Minh City’s people, and the promotion of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces.
Priority should be given to effectively implementing the scheme on the “Strategy for the Development of Ho Chi Minh City’s Cultural Sector for 2020–2035”; the scheme on “Developing Ho Chi Minh City’s Cultural Industries by 2030”; and the scheme on “Overall Development of the Grassroots Cultural and Sports Facilities System in Ho Chi Minh City through 2035.”
The directive also calls for accelerating the “Renovation and Upgrading of the Ho Chi Minh Museum – Ho Chi Minh City Branch” project and effectively implementing the scheme on “Digitizing the Ho Chi Minh Museum – Ho Chi Minh City Branch."
