Stocks on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange successfully swam upstream for the third trading session with support from some large-cap stocks on July 27, helping the Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index to finish in green.
The measure of 294 companies and five mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange gained 0.01 points to close at 409.4 points.
Among the index members, 84 edged up, 113 went down, while 102 remained unchanged.
Trading on the city bourse improved by 53 percent in volume and 66 percent in value over the previous trading session as 30.16 million shares changed hands at a value of VND511 billion.
Investment and Trading Of Real Estate Joint Stock Company (ITC) led the list of most active shares in volume with 591,430 shares changing hands.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAG) tagged along with 583,190 shares.
Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI), the country’s largest brokerage, tailed with 558,770 shares traded.
Full Power Joint Stock Company (FPC) regained 5.56 percent to close at VND1,900.
Mekophar Chemical Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (MKP) and Mien Trung Petroleum Construction Joint Stock Company (PXM) reinforced 5 percent to VND52,500, and VND6,300 respectively.
Beton 6 Corporation (BT6) revived 4.85 percent to VND10,800.
Chuong Duong Joint Stock Company (CDC) plummeted 23.97 percent to close at VND11,100.
Other losers on the city bourse included Everpia Vietnam Joint Stock Company (EVE), Ha Do Group Joint Stock Company (HDG), and Vietnam Fumigation Joint Stock Company (VFG).
The HNX-Index of the smaller bourse in the north also recovered 0.01 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 69.92 points. Trading volume on the northern trading floor slightly rose over the previous trading session as more than 16.5 million shares were traded at VND175.62 billion.
Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares dipped 0.32 percent, or 0.1 points, to 31.35 points. A total of 185,300 shares changed hands at a value of VND2.07 billion as of 11:30 am local time.
