Vietnam’s low-cost carrier VietJet Air was awarded the Best New Route Launch at the 2012 Budgies & Travel Awards held in Sofitel in London recently.

The airline’s highly successful connection linking Ho Chi Minh City with Hanoi was joined in the Top 5 by new routes from SpiceJet (India), EasyJet (England), Southwest (America) and AirAsia X (Malaysia).
The Budgies & Travel Awards celebrates the leadership, efforts, accomplishments and the ingenuity of the low cost aviation industry and the Asian travel industry. The annual event is an occasion to honor the industry’s innovators, forward thinkers and revolutionaries.
Pritam Singh, Deputy General Director of VietJet Air said: “This acclaim caps what has been a stellar debut year for VietJet Air. Our Hanoi- Ho Cho Minh City route has proven to be a winner with Vietnamese and foreign travelers and now we have been honored alongside our peers by the travel industry.”
VietJet Air already offers 22 flights a day across an expanding network, which includes Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Nha Trang and Hai Phong. Domestic and international destinations currently under consideration include Phu Quoc, Dalat, Hue, Vinh, Bangkok, HongKong, Taiwan and Singapore.
