11 more petroleum companies imposed fines on business violations

The Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance under the Ministry of Industry and Trade has just announced a list of 11 companies being imposed administrative fines due to violations of petroleum business including maintaining petroleum reserve below the minimum level as regulated, importing gasoline below the minimum level in terms of quantity, annual allocated petroleum categories and so on.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, on July 29, signed and promulgated Official Dispatch No. 4436 requesting the Head of the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance and the heads of the Market Surveillance Agency in municipalities to strengthen inspection and supervision of the market, ensuring the balance of supply and demand.

Markets blacklisted for selling counterfeit goods

 The United States Trade Representative (USTR) office has blacklisted Vietnam's well-known markets in its 2020 review, for reasons of counterfeiting goods. Dong Xuan Market in Hanoi and Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City have been named on the USTR blacklist.

Only small fuel stations in Hanoi were hit by a shortage in RON95 gasoline supply while trading of RON95 gasoline was still normal at fuel stations of Petrolimex, reported by reporters of SGGP Newspaper.
